12 RIDES WORTH WAITING FOR AT DISNEY WORLD

Walt Disney World, the happiest place on earth! Disney is magical, there’s no denying it. But you know what isn’t magical? Waiting two hours in a line for a ride only to find out it wasn’t really worth it. With limited time to make your way through the parks and the realization you probably can’t ride everything, how do you decide? These are the 12 best attractions we will always wait in line to ride!

MAGIC KINGDOM

PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN

This might just be our favorite Walt Disney World ride of all time. Listening to, “Yo Ho, Yo Ho, a pirates life for me” and smelling the unique scent of Pirates always brings us back to our first trips to Disney as children. From the time you step in the queue, you’ll be immersed in a classic pirate story, complete with cannonballs, rum and Jack Sparrow himself. Board your pirate ship and take a journey on the open seas. Bonus- it’s the perfect place to cool down at Disney to escape intense Florida heat!

HAUNTED MANSION

Welcome foolish mortals! The Haunted mansion is almost as iconic for Disney as the castle itself. Wallpaper that watches you, singing busts and a floating fortune teller’s head. It’s creepy and funny at the same time. You might even catch a glimpse of the grim grinning ghosts as they come out to socialize. Take a ride in your own Disney doom buggy, if you dare.

PETER PAN

Nostalgia at its best, something Disney does well. Peter Pan‘s flight will make you feel like a child again. Soar over London and through Neverland with Peter and the Darling children as they try to defeat Captain Hook! For our family, no trip to Disney is complete without riding this classic.

SPLASH MOUNTAIN

Disney took a classic log flume style water ride, paired it with adorable animals and created one of the most fun rides in the magic kingdom. We love that you get just wet enough to cool off but not so soaked that you have to change your clothes. This Disney ride is always worth the wait for us. Also, something to look forward to… Splash Mountain is getting a Princess and the Frog makeover soon!

EPCOT

FROZEN EVER AFTER

Frozen ever after is arguably one of the most well designed rides at Disney. Though it is a boat ride at heart, it has quite a few unexpected twists that make it different from anything else at Disney. Sing along to your favorite Frozen songs and even meet Marshmallow the Snow Monster. This ride usually has a long line, but it’s worth waiting in. We’d even wait in this Disney line a few times…

REMI‘S RATATOUILLE ADVENTURE

Located in The France Pavilion of Disney’s Epcot, Remi‘s Ratatouille Adventure is one of the newest attractions at Disney. Shrink down to mouse size and scurry through the kitchen with Remy. This ride features trackless technology meaning it’s always a surprise where you’re headed! And after the ride, don’t forget to grab a crêpe!

ANIMAL KINGDOM

FLIGHT OF PASSAGE

Take a ride on a banshee and soar over the magical world of Pandora. This immersive Disney experience will make you feel as though Pandora really exists and you’re lucky enough to be visiting! Word of warning, not good for people with motion sickness…

EXPEDITION EVEREST

Disney has relatively few coaster type rides, but this one is the best. Venture deep enough into the Himalayas and you might just encounter the Yeti himself. The ride is super fun and has an awesome storyline to match, making it definitely worth the wait.

KILIMANJARO SAFARIS

We love Kilimanjaro safaris because it’s a ride everyone can enjoy. Babies, grandmas and everyone in between. It’s also the longest ride at Disney. So even if you have to wait in line for a while, it will pay off in the fact that you’ll get to enjoy the experience for a long time. Plus, who doesn’t love seeing animals up close and personal?

HOLLYWOOD STUDIOS

MICKEY & MINNIE’S RUNAWAY RAILWAY

Mickey and Minnie are THE faces of Disney, right? But have you ever noticed they aren’t featured in any of the rides? Until now! Mickey & Minnie’s runaway railway Is the first ride to feature Mickey, Minnie and their friends. It’s creative, fun and an all around good time. All aboard for this runaway train adventure!

TOWER OF TERROR

Disney’s most epic thrill ride. The Tower of Terror has been the icon of Hollywood Studios for as long as I can remember. And for good reason! The detail they went through to create the inside queue experience alone is worth waiting in the line. Once you’re inside, you’ll be transported into the twilight zone. I hope you’re ready for what comes next! Not for the faint of heart or those afraid of heights…

RISE OF THE RESISTANCE

Even if you aren’t a fan of Star Wars or you don’t know much about it, this Disney attraction is still worth a ride. It combines several different ride mechanisms for an experience that’s like nothing else at Disney. It’s worth the hype (and the wait).

When we visit Disney, these are the attractions we prioritize riding. Though everyone has their own favorites and preferences, we hope this list helps if you’re contemplating what’s worth waiting for!
