We’re The Road We’re On – A family who left behind our ordinary suburban life in search of extraordinary adventures across America’s backroads and byways.
After feeling discontentment stuck in the 9-5 grind, we craved the freedom and simplicity of life on the road. We wanted to step off the hamster wheel and start living by our own rules. So we moved into an RV, embraced minimalism, and set out to rediscover the beauty of this country while creating lasting memories together as a family.
Why We Made This Choice
We had four main motivations for hitting the open road:
Spending More Time Together: Our number one goal is to enjoy quality time together as a family while our kids are still young. Traveling in the RV allows us to be side-by-side sharing experiences from morning to night. We don’t take this precious time for granted.
Teaching Our Kids: Beyond academics, we want our kids to learn flexibility, social skills, independence, and an appreciation for diverse cultures. Exploring America’s cities and towns gives them a hands-on education no classroom can compete with.
Experiences Over Things: We’ve traded material possessions for collecting experiences. Instead of buying toys, we invest in creating lifelong memories outdoors, visiting new destinations, and meeting people from all walks of life. Those connections make life meaningful.
Community Connections: One perk of the travel lifestyle is the instant camaraderie within the RV community. We love swapping stories and tips with fellow nomads. And if our paths ever cross, please stop to say hey!
